In Thailand, learning english is a necessity. A large majority of Thailand's economy depends on tourism. As most tourists use english to communicate with other people who can not speak their native tongue it is important to know english to get a decent job.

Nathan Blake, a teacher and writer decided to continue some of his fathers work in a small school outside Mae Sot in North-Central Thailand. The school is made up of mostly native Thai children it is also has a small population of Karen who are refugees from Myanmar.

Because transportation isn't an option most of the students stay at the school as well as a Christian Hostel next to the school.
